The Discussion of Refugee Is Not Far Away From Us
･ On September 22nd, GIIASS collaborated with Lung Yingtai Cultural Foundation to hold an English keynote speech and welcomed Ms. Daniela Segovia from Refugee Self-Reliance Initiative to talk about refugee and humanitariansim.
･ Ms. Segovia combined professional observation and her experience, lead audiences into the current status of international refugee issue and helped us understand its structural probelms.
･ In 2025, the number of international refugee has exceeded 100 million, far beyond the 20 million recored back in 1995.
･ Ms. Segovia emphasized to face the reality, cultivate empathy and enhanced public understanding.
･ Audiences participated were active during the discussion and inquired regarding topics of refugee settlement, challenges on culture fusion and sharing of responsibility internationally.
･ The speech not only raised awarness on refugee issue, also emphasized that even in Taiwan, we are interconnected with the world.
