Academic Regulations for Course Registration by Degree Program
Course Registration
With the exception of the thesis, all courses in the Institute’s degree programs are elective. The following are foundational courses recommended for all students:
Online Course Registration
- The University adopts an online course registration system. Students are required to complete course registration according to the registration schedule announced by the Office of Academic Affairs.

After completing course registration, students should immediately check and confirm their latest course registration records through the Course Registration Inquiry System: http://sinfo.ais.tku.edu.tw/emis - Course Inquiry System: http://esquery.tku.edu.tw/acad/
Master’s Program Course Registration Guidelines
- Students are required to take at least one course per semester (including a 0-credit thesis course), and may take a maximum of 12 credits per semester.
- In addition to taking courses offered by the Master’s Program of this Institute, students may also enroll in courses offered by the Doctoral Program, Executive Master’s Program, and other departments/institutes (including Master’s Programs, Doctoral Programs, and Executive Master’s Programs). A maximum of 4 credits from such courses may be recognized as credits required for graduation. Among these courses, students may take a maximum of one course per semester from other departments/institutes or different academic programs.
- For courses within the same academic program, students should complete course registration through the online registration system during the designated registration period. For courses across different academic programs, students must apply through the Online Application System for Add/Drop, Cross-Program Enrollment, or Excess Credit Registration in accordance with the regulations announced by the Office of Academic Affairs. Tuition and fees will be charged according to the student’s original registered program.
- Courses with the same course serial number and course code will be counted only once toward graduation credits. Students should carefully check the course serial number and course code on their transcripts to avoid duplicate registration.
- Students may take courses and apply for preliminary procedures in the same semester (such as approval of the thesis advisor, thesis proposal oral examination, and subject examination). Students may also take courses and apply for the Master’s Thesis Oral Examination in the same semester; however, only one course may be taken during that semester. After completing the preliminary procedures, students may apply for the Master’s Thesis Oral Examination in the following semester.
